This is our first wedding dance. We originally started slow dancing to Johnny Cash’s “Rose of my heart” and after boring all of our family and friends I Interrupted the band to let everyone know that ” I always have the first dance at these events but now I am going to do my kind of dancing with a great partner,”
I hope you enjoy the video! we tried to mirror Patrick Swayze and Jennifer’s Grey’s exact moves from the movie!
We also had planned on me doing the full lift but minutes we hit the stage I realized there was about a 96% chance i would drop becky on her face, break my arm and ruin the wedding..

Dirty Dancing USA – Jen and Tony’s First Wedding Dance

We practiced with the movie to do the same movement and dance from “(I’ve Had) the Time of my Life” in the movie “Dirty Dancing” with Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze – minus some turns and the lift (the dress was too heavy). We did it for our first wedding dance. In the original dirty dancing, the camera cuts away, so we borrowed from the Dancing with the Stars rendition of “I’ve Had the Time of My Life” with Tony Dovolani & Cheryl Burke, but they actually also departed from the original choreography if you look at the dances side to side. People have been commenting that the band was bad, but THEY SOUNDED MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!! Video by Formica Video, Pompton Lakes, NJ. It was an awesome wedding. And it was back in November 2006, before the Brits posted their video!

Grand Entrance Wedding Song and Dance!! Very Fun and Unique!!

Weddings are a celebration!!!…so have fun with your wedding…. WE DID… and it was the best day of our lives!!
My husband and I are theatre/movie buffs, so our wedding was COMPLETELY MUSICAL! Everyone in the wedding party sang and danced!!.. For example… the GROOM came out singing in his underwear reenacting the bit from “Risky Business”, the Groomsmen made an appearance as the Blues Brothers, the Bridesmaids sang and danced to Aretha Franklin “Respect” as well as a song from “Sister Act two”. I (Bride) walked down the aisle to the beginning of “Thunderstruck”!!! and then an acoustic version of “Nothing Else Matters”, by Metallica, was played throughout our vows. I even sang “At Last” just after we kissed. Everyone loved it!!! It was outrageously romantic and everyone CRIED, LAUGHED, and CHEERED. I had SOOOO many wonderful compliments. The energy was WAY UP, which made for the best reception.
So, if you are a bride getting married, my advice to you is to JUST HAVE FUN!!…and make it your own…. because it doesn’t really matter what you do, as long as you and your partner are in LOVE!!!
