Don’t listen to the negative comments. I think it sounds lovely. What I would do would be to really make your tables and centerpieces lovely. Are your bringing in tables and chairs? Cover the tables with real tablecloths – not paper or plastic ones. You can get fairly inexpensive ones at discount stores like Walmart and Target and also Dollar Stores. They are not that expensive. Then, maybe have lanterns on the tables. Here is a link:

Or simple glass bowls with floating candles ~ very pretty!

You say they don’t allow music…..but I’m sure you could play some SOFT music somehow. Kind of like dinner music. Bring in a portable CD player and play some soft music. I’m sure what they mean is they don’t want you to set up a DJ or a live band.

Then, just mingle with your guests. I know I have read about people playing games at receptions. I think it was on the Canadian or UK yahoo. You could maybe do something fun like that. You should check the park's restrictions. Part of a celebration includes music, if you ask me. The alcohol I guess I could get over if I was on a budget and wanted to have my event at this park, but the deal breaker would be the music. Planning a wedding involves deciding what things are most important to you & your fiance VS what will make your guests feel welcome & have a good time. It's hard to balance the two, but I think you have to consider your guests even if it is "your day."

You must really like this park to agree to no music. No alcohol is bad enough however you can always have an after party to compensate. Anyway, I would say your best bet is to have a sit down dinner, or if that isn’t possible keep it simple with cake and punch. I would not go the finger food route. Are there any activites at the park that you could get the guests involved in? How formal is your wedding? I’ve heard the newest trend is to have various sport type games set up like horse shoes and badmitten…

I'm not allowed to have alcohol at my wedding either, but im allowed to have music...its just has to be nice music. You should have the traditional sit down dinner, and the speaches from the maid of honor and best man. I guess you cant have the father daughter dance or the bride groom dance. I would try to see if they will let you do that, cause its organized. Some photographers after they take the photos from the ceremony and the ones they make you pose for, they make a little slide show that can be played durring the reception.

I don’t know about a venue that allows neither alcohol nor music! Besides eating, what can the guests do? I guess that’s what you’re asking. Usually, people dance, eat and drink…generally make merry. I don’t know what to advise, I’m sorry to say.
